"Pittsburgh Named Among the Best Places in the World to Visit in 2012," says National Geographic Traveler magazine.

YES, Pittsburgh! Four times named "America's Most Livable City," Pittsburgh has just been named among the 20 great places in the world to experience in 2012 by National Geographic Traveler.
In the article, National Geographic Traveler states: "Its mourning for its industrial past long concluded, this western Pennsylvania city changed jobs and reclaimed its major assets: a natural setting that rivals Lisbon and San Francisco, a wealth of fine art and architecture, and a quirky sense of humor."
In this "Pittsburgh: Extreme Metropolitan Makeover" story, the magazine notes: "Three rivers. One reinvented city. On all counts, the Steel City's transformation over the past quarter century qualifies as revolutionary."
The only other U.S. destination to be featured on the "Best of the World 2012" list is Sonoma, California. Others on the list include:
