Han Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, invited City of Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl to deliver a keynote presentation at the prestigious IBLAC Conference in October 2010. Taking this opportunity to highlight the city's resurgence and successful transformation, Mayor Ravenstahl led a delegation of key Pittsburgh executives to introduce and promote investment to Pittsburgh region in China.

Participated in the IBLAC Conference: Attended the 22nd IBLAC meeting at the invitation of Mayor Han Zheng where Mayor Ravenstahl delivered a keynote address to 44 global corporate leaders and the entire leadership of Shanghai.


Corporate Visits: Visited four multi-billion dollar Chinese corporations, meeting with senior leadership to promote Pittsburgh as a destination for Chinese investment, tourism, and goods.

Met with Stakeholders: Met with more than 300 Chinese businesspeople and corporate leaders, including prominent members of China's growing venture capital sector, to share Pittsburgh's strengths as a global energy and technology center.

Engaged in a Comprehensive PR Campaign: Communicated directly with over 20 local and international media outlets to advance the delegation's efforts in promoting Pittsburgh abroad which resulted in more than 50 media reports and broadcasts, resulting in multimillion registrations in China and the US combined.


Engaged the Pittsburgh Community in Shanghai: Welcomed more than 220 persons in the Pittsburgh corporate community at the Pittsburgh Shanghai dinner reception.
